PESD Notice of Governing Board Vacancy

As of December 18, 2024, a vacancy in the membership of the Governing Board of the Perris Elementary School District occurred by reason of the resignation of Board Member Jesika Campos of Trustee Area 2, effective December 18, 2024.

The Perris Elementary School District is accepting applications from residents in Trustee Area 2 to fill the vacancy by provisional appointment. Any eligible person who would like to be considered as a candidate for appointment is invited to submit an application. Applications are available online at https://www.perrisesd.org/page/board-vacancy

Qualifications for Potential Candidates

California Education Code Section 35107 states: “Any person, regardless of sex, who is 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the State, a resident of the School District, a registered voter, and who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the State from holding a civil office, is eligible to be elected or appointed a member of a governing board of a school district.”

Applicants must be registered voters and must reside within Trustee Area 2. Trustee Area 2 resides near Palms and Sky View Elementary. Applicants can verify residency in Trustee Area 2 by calling the Riverside County Registrar of Voters at (951) 486-7200.
